The Company

Our client is an AIM-listed mining company committed to the development, construction and operation of a multi-billion dollar Iron Ore project and associated rail and port facilities in West Africa. 

The Role

The Port Operator reports to the Port Operations Shift Supervisor and will be responsible for safe operation of ship loaders/frontend loaders up to CAT 992 size /train unloading systems and the sailing and berthing of vessels and other machinery as required. 

The Requirements 

As the successful candidate, it is essential that you possess the following skills and experience: 

  • A minimum of 5 years prior port experience in operating:
  • A minimum of 5 years prior port experience in operating:
    -          Ship loaders
    -          Conveyors
    -          Stackers/Reclaimers
    -          FEL and other mobile plant
    -          Train dumper
    -          Stevedoring
    -          Radio communications
  • SCADA type control systems preferred
  • Exposure to multi-national, ethnic and cultural environments in developing countries
