Our client is one of the largest Gold producers in West Africa and is currently looking for an experienced Exploration Geologist for their gold mine operations in West Africa.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will be responsible for development of drilling, in-house geological core logging and mapping. The right candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Direct supervision of all facets of the exploration sampling activities.
• Field Mapping for interpretive geological and geotechnical purposes.
• Effective management of drill rigs, crew as well as drillers to achieve day to day exploration set targets. 
• Manage computer database of exploration data and exploration processes.
• Conduct geological core sampling, handling and logging
• Generation of geological sections and interpretation to assist with short to medium term resource estimation.
• Maintenance of quality control systems.
• Train and mentor junior staffs in all facets of exploration geology field procedures.
• Assist in performance evaluation and appraisal for junior staffs.

The Requirements

To be the successful candidate, it is essential that you possess the following skills and experience:

• You must have the right to work in Ghana to apply for this position
• B.Sc. in Geology or Geological Engineering
• Minimum 3 – 4 years practical experience in the mining environment
• Proficiency with geological & mining software. Knowledge in  Surpac, and MapInfo will be an added advantage  
• Strong people and team management skills
