The Company

Our client is an ASX listed, producing Iron Ore company, in Western Australia who are undergoing a significant expansion project which offers excellent career opportunity for future advancement

The Role

The objective of this position is to provide operational processing support to the Expansion Project and the development of operational readiness. To support the Resident Manager to ensure the efficient planning and running of the processing operations to meet operational targets compliant to CRL standards and statutory obligations. To work closely with the EPCM during construction ensuring a clear bridge to start-up is achieved.

This position is based in West Perth initially (for 2 years or so), then will based on the mine site.

The key responsibilities include:
  • Responsible and accountable for the day to day activities in and around the processing plant, including tails and product storage operations
  • Manage all bore fields and associated infrastructure
  • Manage all contractor associated works
  • Development and management of the processing department to CRL standards
  • Development of plans, schedules programs to ensure the operations objectives are met
  • Management of the processing interface with other departments
  • Act as subject matter expert for other process employees in technical matters
  • All Statutory and other specified reporting requirements accurately and within a timely manner
  • Reporting and investigations of all compliance breaches within department
  • Understand and carry out compliance with all legislation, agreements, standards, codes of practice for the department

The Requirements

As the successful candidate, it is essential that you possess the following skills and experience:
  • Minimum of 15 years in processing activities comprised of design/planning, scheduling, practical equipment and associated activities experience, shift supervision
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in management level positions of a similar size operation
  • Experience on similar projects managing processors which crush at least 70000 tonnes per day (25mtpa)
  • An understanding of financial analysis and reporting techniques
  • Clear understanding of the responsibilities of the Western Australian “Mines Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations”
  • Exposure to mineral sands or iron ore beneficiation processes
  • Previous exposure to Greenfields projects and the development of operational readiness capabilities
  • Experience with gravity separation, spirals with an understanding of magnetic separators, grinding circuits and primary and secondary crushing systems
  • Management of fixed and mobile plant maintenance
  • Rail load-out and stockpile management
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy or equivalent
