The Company
Our client is an ASX listed, producing Iron Ore company, in Western Australia who are undergoing a significant expansion project which offers excellent career opportunity for future advancement
The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, the position of Project Manager will be initially to support the development of the Bankable Feasibility Study specifically on the areas of the development of the project execution plans and procedures, contracting strategies and the project schedule. Following financial close, the position will have direct responsibility for the design, procurement and construction of the process plant and associated infrastructure.
The key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of the Project Execution Plan including the development of the detailed execution schedule.
- Supporting the delivery of the Feasibility Study.
- Ensure quality assurance, safety, human resources, environmental plans are established by all parties and are complied with.
- Provide direction and review the performance of the Implementation Contractors.
- Prepare a comprehensive suite of project execution plans, procedures and guidelines to support the efficient running of the projects. These documents will be succinct and developed to ensure coordinate approach by all parties involved in the project delivery.
- Management of the EPCM consultant appointed to deliver the project.
- Ensure a detailed cost contract and a detailed project delivery schedule is developed and baselined.
- Monitor and report progress against these baselines and develop recovery plans where required.
- Ensure progress is currently monitored and reported and detailed trending and forecasting of cost and schedule occurs.
- Ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management are implemented.

- Ensure project quality requirements are established and met in all areas of design, manufacture, fabrication and erection.
- Develop and mentor all direct reports and subordinates to ensure each person meets and exceeds his/her potential. Provide opportunities for career development within the team.
The Requirements
As the successful candidate, it is essential that you possess the following skills and experience:
- 15 plus years direct hands-on experience as a Project Manager on large scale projects (500M-2B) This means management of an entire project (not just one component such as construction etc)
- Project Management of a major (+AUD500M) project in either client or EPCM contractor role.
- Exposure to large mining projects highly regarded. (500M-2B)
- Design, procurement, construction and pre-commissioning experience
- Extensive large scale project execution experience.
- Demonstrated experience seeing a project through to several stages including operations is highly regarded
- Demonstrate in meeting PM targets and KPI’s set (time, cost etc)
