We Are Growing: Globe’s New HR Consulting Manager!

Globe 24-7 is very pleased to welcome Alain Pfammatter picture portrait as Globe’s new ‘Manager, Global HR Consulting’ based in Perth, Western Australia who will be responsible for managing the companies global HR Consulting programs with a particular focus initially in the African mining sector.

As a Swiss and Australian national, Alain has operated on an inter-country basis both professionally and personally.

From solid foundations in the European construction sector with French giant Bouygues, he built a capacity to manage rapid and extensive company growth. Enjoying the challenge of fostering effectiveness and development in an ever changing environment, he advanced practical solutions to talent and training gaps, writing and delivering courses, designing and implementing programs and systems. His excellent organizational and analytical skills, his sense of common interest and  joint responsibility, have meant he is appreciated as a true business partner, who can challenge the status quo and redefine policy.

In Australia since 2008, Alain acted as a consultant or contractor with Amcor, Georgiou Construction and BHP Billiton Nickel West. He joined Sundance Resources in 2010, an Australian-based international iron ore company developing the $6 billion mine construction Mbalam Project in Central West Africa. As HR Group Manager, his specialist expertise in HR strategy and systems, change management, cultural diversity and international executive recruitment and selection has been capital in advancing project-readiness. In 2012, he led labour negotiations in Cameroon which resulted in the signature of the country’s first mining labour agreement. He worked then in Guinea as HR Director on site, leading, developing and managing the entire HR function to support the US$ 1 billion Greenfield project. He since then has been consulting for mining companies active in Africa.

A Political Science graduate from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, Alain holds post-graduate HR qualifications gained in both Europe and Australia, including a Certificate in Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Geneva, Switzerland and a Master of Science in Global Human Resource Management from the University of Liverpool, England. His dissertation was focused on Factors Impacting Employees’ Perceptions of a Performance Management System Effectiveness: A Cross-Borders Investigation.

Alain is a certified Professional member (CAHRI) of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

Globe’s Chief Executive Officer Lachlan Spicer commented that “we are very happy to have Alain join us to lead our global HR Consulting business and we really look forward to his contribution based on the years of HR mining experience he has gained throughout Europe, Australia and Africa. He is a fantastic addition to our team and will support us greatly.”
